Planteray PXXO 20th Anniversary 40%vol. 0,7 Liter

The world-famous rum brand Plantation Rum has changed its name to Planteray Rum to counteract potential negative associations with the term “plantation”. The new name combines “Plant” (plant) and “Ray” (ray) and is symbolic of sugar cane and the sun's rays that promote its growth. Despite the renaming, both the quality and the production of the rum remain unchanged.

Each Plantation Rum is an expression of his Caribbean country of origin. Alexandre Gabriel, owner and master burner of Maison Ferrand, works closely with local distilleries that produce the RUMs, where they have to age for the first part of their lives in warm Caribbean cellars. Alexandre has maintained permanent relationships with the best Caribbean distilleries. The name Plantation is intended to reflect the most important terroirs and rum cultures. Plantation is also the owner of the mythical West Indies Rum Distillery in Barbados and Shareholder of National Rum of Jamaica, owner of Clarendon Distillery and Long Pond Distillery.

Planteray PXXO 20th Anniversary is a celebratory rum designed for smooth, rounded enjoyment. Bottled at 40% ABV in a 0.7 litre format, it works beautifully neat and also elevates premium mixed drinks where a mellow, full flavoured rum character is key.

The name PXXO suggests influence from PX sherry style maturation, which typically leans towards richer, darker, fruit led sweetness. A great pick if you enjoy dessert like rum profiles.
