The town of Port Askaig is located on the northeast coast of the Isle of Islay. Port Askaig is a range of Islay single malt whiskeys that embody the unique spirit of Islay and its people. Its character combines the robust smokiness and the soft fruitiness of these beguiling island. The excellent whiskey is the youngest malt in the brand's core range, which was brought out by the English company Specialty Drinks Ltd, based in London.

Port Askaig 100 Proof is a Cask Strenght whiskey with a strong Islay character. Even if the bottling distillery is not named, it is very likely that a Caol Ila will be filled into the bottles here.

This whiskey has a good balance between sweetness and peat. A spicy base note with peaty malt and maritime aromas fill the air. Notes of sea salt with a classic wood fire also join in. On the palate it is wonderfully spicy with strong peat and mineral aromas that bring a touch of chocolate to me. Black berries with slight hints of liquorice and salty caramel are discreetly perceived. The finish is spicy and long.
