The town of Port Askaig is located on the northeast coast of the Isle of Islay. Port Askaig is a range of Islay single malt whiskeys that embody the unique spirit of Islay and its people. Its character combines the robust smokiness and the soft fruitiness of these beguiling island.
The excellent whiskey is the youngest malt in the brand's core range, which was launched by the English company Specialty Drinks Ltd, based in London.
The 8-year-old Port Askaig whiskey is an award-winning Islay single malt Scotch whiskey, which matured in carefully selected and previously used American oak barrels.
Fresh and maritime notes with lemon oil fill the air. It is slightly smoky and smells of campfire embers and coal. In terms of taste, it has a lot to offer. This whiskey is rich in notes of citrus and seafood. It is balanced with Islay smoke and a subtle honey sweetness and herbal notes in the background. It has a sweet and malty finish.
