The production of Irish whiskey has a long tradition in Ireland. As early as 1800 there were around 2,000 distilleries, including the James Power distillery, which produced this whiskey.
The John Powers Gold is triple distilled and then matures for a long time in oak barrels that were previously used for bourbon.
Spicy notes of cloves, pepper and cinnamon, accompanied by fruity, candied apples and pears, with notes of oak, rise into the nose. Spicy pot still aromas can be perceived on the palate. These aromas are accompanied by sweet honey, some oak, nutmeg, grain and peppercorns. It has a velvety, slightly oily finish with a long finish of wood and grain.
