Destilería Carupano is a Venezuelan company founded in 1762 in Macarapana-Carúpano, Venezuela, known for producing various types of aged rum and not fully aged products such as rum blends. The Ron Carúpano distillery is a family business that has developed over 4 generations.
Demanding country regulations, exceptional microclimate, pure spring water and 260 years of mixing mastery are the elements that make this rum special. In addition, there is the special ripe place. Ripened on the Caribbean coast, northeast of Venezuela, where high temperatures during the day and low temperatures at night optimize the aging process.
Carmen López de Bastidas, is the first certified Female Master Blender in Venezuela. She has given the rums from "Ron Carupano" a nurturing and unmistakable touch. For 33 years the distillery has benefited from her oversight, directing blends that truly strike the balance between what is elegant and smooth yet full of character, typical of a distillate.
It is a blend of several rums aged between 6 and 21 years in American white oak barrels.
There is no refilling during the entire ripening process.
Intense aromas of macerated red fruits, raisins and dates, coconut, orange peel, sarapia, wood, nuts, coffee and cinnamon rise into the nose. On the palate it is soft, complex and elegant, with hints of macerated fruit, coconut, tobacco and dark chocolate, with a long and persistent finish.
