Tamnavulin Distillery opened in 1966 on the banks of the River Livet, deep in the heart of Speyside, Scotland's most famous whiskey producing region. A small group of talented craftsmen began creating the distillery's signature Speyside malt over 50 years ago. Only selected ingredients were used, combined with centuries-old distilling expertise.
In the production of exceptional single malt whiskeys with real Speyside character, the first maturation takes place in ex-Bourbon American oak casks, then a selection of the spirit is transferred to ex-Tempranillo red wine casks from Spain. Tempranillo red wine casks are rarely used for whiskey finishing and aging. It is a dark grape variety from Spain known for its rich, full-bodied red wines.
Matured in American white oak and finished in Tempranillo red wine casks for a rich, fruity finish that complements the sweet, smooth taste of Tamnavulin. A rich, sweet and smooth Speyside Whisky. Ideal for whiskey novices and connoisseurs. This whiskey has a flavor profile of figs, maple syrup, candied apple and chocolate.
