Since 1918, the Chugoku Jozo distillery, today called "Sakurao Distillery", has been producing various spirits including sake and liqueurs. In 1990, the distillery began producing whiskey as well.

 The special thing about this Togouchi whiskey is the unique place for the maturing process. Located in the heart of the mountainous region of Nishi-Chugoku Sanchi, it houses a tunnel built by the Japanese Railway Company in 1970, but remained unused. With a constant temperature and humidity, the place offers the ideal conditions for the maturation of the Togouchi whiskeys. 

 The result is a unique blend of Scotch whiskeys, a wonderful tribute from the master distiller to Scotch whiskies. With this blended whiskey, one perceives fruity notes of citrus and yellow fruits, but also spicy notes. A very rich and round, aromatic finish with intense spicy notes.
