Tomatin is a whiskey distillery in the village of Tomatin on the eastern edge of the Monadhliath Mountains in the northern Scottish Highlands.
The lightly peated 'Cu Bocan' series from Tomatin gets a new bottling. ExBourbon, ExOloroso Sherry and North American Virgin Oak casks are now used for the new bottling. This cask selection gives the Siganture a special variety of aromas.
Fresh and spicy smoke aromas fill the air. Light citrus fruits, almonds and notes of anise are also noticeable. On the palate you can again perceive some smoke and notes of honey, cinnamon and cloves, and the aromas of aniseed accompany the taste until the finish. The smoke remains and slightly sweet notes give it a nice long finish.
