The House of Tomintoul produces a number of very elegant whiskeys. This whiskey can clearly be seen that it was stored in bourbon barrels and sherry barrels.
The strictly limited Tomintoul 12 Year Old Oloroso Sherry Cask is a single malt whiskey from the Speyside region of Scotland that has matured in sherry casks. The 12-year-old Tomintoul matured for several months in fine Oloroso sherry casks to achieve its refined taste.
Aromas of malt and a touch of oak with elegant sherry notes rise to the nose. Very sweet and fruity. The fruity aromas are also very present in the taste. You also notice a slight nutty spice. Notes of malt, sherry, vanilla, toffee and chocolate give the Tomintoul a great variety of aromas. The finish shows a long, soothing finish that brings with it gentle aromas.
