Tullamore Distillery is an Irish whiskey distillery in Tullamore, Ireland. One of Ireland's finest whiskeys, Tullamore Dew was first distilled in 1829.
Tullamore Rouge is a new, limited edition 13-year-old Irish single malt whiskey aged in French Bordeaux red wine casks. The perfect drop for whiskey lovers, wine connoisseurs and anyone who appreciates a good glass of red wine. After the single malt whiskey was allowed to mature in bourbon and sherry casks for 13 years, it is carefully aged in ex-Pomerol casks. Pomerol is a famous red wine from the Bordeaux region of France. This finish gives the whiskey its incredibly fruity aromas and makes it more full-bodied, with powerful and luscious notes of ripe grapes and delicate tannin spiciness.
Notes of red berries, violets and garden fruits rise into the nose, which combine with the rich vanilla notes of the oak to create a unique overall work. Aromas of red wine spice, sour cherries and an abundance of fruit are perceived on the palate. The finish is dry and ripe with lingering wood aromas.
