Wolfburn is a whiskey distillery near Thurso, Scotland. In January 2013, the first spirit flowed through the stills at Wolfburn, the most northerly distillery on mainland Scotland.
This whisky was allowed to mature for 10 years in second fill Oloroso sherry butts.
A gentle sherry sweetness with notes of figs and raisins can be perceived on the nose. There are also light aromas of vanilla and oak. On the palate, it has strong notes of chocolate and dark fruit as well as facets of caramel and vanilla, which interact with gentle hints of nutmeg and oak smoke. The finish is long-lasting.
