1820 Jørgen B. Lysolm, one of the pioneers of Norwegian spirit production, found his distillery and laid the foundation for today's remarkable tradition of the Aquavits from Norway. In 1780, Catharina Lysolm built the ship "Trondhiems Prøve" in cooperation with her brother, an important craftsman. In 1805, the ship left the harbor for East India with a cargo potato brand and other goods. Five barrels of the cargo remained unsupported and were returned to Norway in 1807. On their return, it was found that the taste of this far-roused aquavits has become softer and the taste changed through the journey. Line Aquavit was born. To date, each bottle contains aquavit details for its four months of sea voyage in sherry barrels.

LINIE Double Cask Port is the first extension of the Lysholm LINIE brand, created more than 200 years after the original. What distinguishes Double Cask from its predecessor is its second maturation process. After completing the traditional LINIE maturation at sea, the aquavit receives an additional 6 months of maturation in carefully selected port casks. The additional maturation of LINIE Double Cask provides more mellowness and adds extra dimension and complexity to the well-known LINIE Aquavit. Notes of dark fruit, caramel, chocolate, a little spice and fortified wine emerge on the nose. A sweet and soft taste is perceived on the palate. This LINIE Double Cask has a long aftertaste of dried dark fruits.
