Barril Rum Unique Cask Aged Rum is a rum newcomer from Buxtehude. Although it was only launched on the market in 2020, it has already come a long and long way. Rum is a blend of Caribbean distillates from Panama, Nicaragua, Barbados and the Dominican Republic. They are obtained through various distillation processes and matured for five to eight years in new bourbon barrels in their home country. Careful blending gives the rum its versatility and harmonious taste.
The Barbados rum used in the blend has a rich aroma. It is made from molasses, triple distilled using the column distillation process and then matured for 8 years. The rum from Panama is distilled in the same way as the Barbados rum and then matured for 6 years. This gives the blend fruity notes. Rums from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua are also molasses rums. They are matured for 8 or at least 5 years and give the unique, barrel-matured rum from Barril Rum a sweet and complex aroma. The result is a very diverse whisky with a great aroma profile.
