Mount Gay is the oldest operating rum distillery in the world, producing rum on Barbados since 1703. Shaped by over 300 years of expertise and the tropical climate of the island, Mount Gay rums are known for their rich, characterful style. Mount Gay Black Barrel Rum comes in an attractive gift box, making it a perfect choice for gifting or special occasions.
Black Barrel is crafted from a blend of intense, aromatic rums distilled in traditional copper pot stills and column stills. The rums are first aged between 3 and 7 years in American whiskey casks and then finished for a further 6 months in deeply charred bourbon barrels. This double maturation results in a robust and layered rum.
On the palate, Mount Gay Black Barrel shows plenty of oak and buttery notes, balanced by dried fruits, spices and lingering citrus tones. The result is a dry, well-balanced spirit with a medium to long finish that unfolds with every sip.
