The Romeo y Julieta cigar brand is one of the oldest and best-known cigar brands from Cuba. Romeo y Julieta was introduced in 1850 by Inocencio Álvarez Rodríguez and José "Manin" García. Named after William Shakespeare's tragic lovers, the origins of the Habanos brand Romeo y Julieta go back to 1875. Alongside Cohiba and Montecristo, the Romeo y Julieta brand is one of the best-known Habanos brands on the globe. The taste of Romeo y Julieta cigars is mostly medium-strong and has a variety of aromas from aromatic and fruity to nutty and woody to dark chocolate and strong roasted aromas. The Puritos from Romeo y Julieta are the largest variant of the brand's cigarillos.
