The family, headed by Carlos Fuente, has been making cigars since 1912. Most of the wrappers for this series come from the 1984 harvest, making them probably the oldest wrappers that are used for a continuously produced series of cigars the cigars a spice and richness of aromas that are otherwise not known from the Dominican Republic.
The Arturo Fuente Opus X Angel's Share Reserva d'Chateau is a rare premium cigar from the Dominican Republic. The tin of 3 contains three cigars in the classic Churchill format and is especially suitable for collectors, fans of limited Fuente releases and special smoking moments.
Angel's Share was created as a tribute to a serious fire in 2012, in which precious long aged tobaccos belonging to the Fuente family were lost. The name refers to the portion that evaporates during the maturation of spirits and symbolically belongs to the angels.
For the Angel's Share line, Arturo Fuente uses a wrapper from the middle priming of the tobacco plant. This makes the cigar slightly more refined and approachable than the usually stronger Opus X wrapper from the upper priming. Even so, the Reserva d'Chateau remains powerful, aromatically dense and clearly shaped by Dominican Corojo character.
The flavour shows cedarwood, earth, leather, roasted nuts, coffee, pepper, fine sweetness and dark fruit. The Churchill format provides a long, calm smoking experience with good development and a smoking time of around 80 to 100 minutes.
