In June 2002, Don Pepin Garcia founded the "El Rey de los Habanos" factory with his family. Pepín came from a family of tobacco farmers and joined the family business in 1961 at the age of 11. In 1963 he joined the "Félix Rodríguez" factory, owned by another uncle and always located in Baéz. There he developed a long career until he was finally able to leave Cuba in 2001. During this time he received numerous prizes and awards for the quality of his work, including the prestigious Productivity Award.

Today he has his own factory in the Little Havana neighborhood of Miami. This manufactory belongs to the quality elite of the industry and is universally recognized.
