Rocky Patel initially made a name for himself as a successful attorney in Hollywood, with clients including Arnold Schwarzenegger. During the great cigar boom of the 1990s in the U.S., Rocky made a career change, entered the cigar business as a newcomer, and achieved his first successes at a trade show in 1996. In 2003, he shifted his focus to premium cigars and introduced his first Vintage Series.

Thanks to his tireless dedication, Rocky Patel has built an extensive network over the decades, giving him access to the finest tobaccos. His cigars are handcrafted both in Honduras and at his own factory, Tavicusa, located in Estelí, Nicaragua.

His creative drive is relentless. No other brand boasts a portfolio as vast as Rocky Patel’s. His true passion lies in blending. It’s not uncommon for him to sample 120 different blends and select only one or two that meet his high standards of perfection. In doing so, he often takes unconventional approaches.

One striking example of his unconventional style is the Dark Star series. For this line, Rocky used, for the first time, tobacco from a Paraguayan seed cultivated in Honduras. The flawless, milk-chocolate brown Corojo wrapper comes from Honduras, as does the binder. The filler is a carefully crafted blend of tobaccos from the Jamastrán Valley in Honduras and from Jalapa, Nicaragua, giving the cigar an impressive complexity and depth.
