From their beginnings as forest owners born in the Tronçais forest in France in the 17th century, the Gautier family have developed a close relationship with oak, a key element in mastering the long aging process of their cognac. They have specially selected French oak trees. They slowly toast their casks over medium fire to give the cognac distinctive rich, gourmet and grilled notes.
The Gautier "Pinar del Rio" is named after the valley where the best tobacco leaves in Cuba are harvested. This unique blend is made from aged spirits from Gautier's Paradise Cellars. The legendary Cuban master mixologist Don Alejandro Robaina has taken the trouble to make this cognac the perfect cigar companion.
Intense, fruity notes rise into the nose. On the palate it is spicy and one perceives notes of dried fruit and oak. The finish is long lasting.
