Hennessy is a cognac distillery based in Cognac (France). The process of making cognac is long and sophisticated. The locally grown Ugni White grapes go through six important steps from the moment they are carefully picked from their vines to that first sip as the exceptional cognac in your glass. A double distillation is required to make cognac eau-de-vie. Approximately 12 kg of grapes are needed to obtain 1 liter of eau de vie. Eaux-de-vie and wood age together for years, exchanging flavors and colors. Each eau de vie requires years of work and rotation between different casks to reach its full complexity.

Hennessy V.S.O.P is a traditional cognac whose origins go back to a special commission in 1817. George IV, later King of England, requested a “Very Superior Old Pale” cognac. From this idea came a cognac that still stands for versatile enjoyment and mature character today.

Hennessy V.S.O.P was created to suit many different occasions. It can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, as a long drink or as a premium ingredient in creative cocktails.

On the nose, it first reveals spicy sweet nuances of vanilla, clove and cinnamon. These are followed by subtle roasted notes that come from maturation in oak casks. On the palate, it combines strength and finesse in a balanced composition with mature character and a fresh grape note.
