Calvados is an amber-colored apple brandy from Normandy, France. The name of the drink is derived from its protected designation of origin, the "Département Calvados". For the production of calvados, the fresh apple cider is fermented into cider in a few weeks, there are a total of 48 different apple varieties.

The "Boulard Calvados Grand Solage" is made from a mixture of 2 to 5 year old Calvados from the Pays d’Auge, the apple scent and its amber color are characteristic of the Boulard Grand Solage. The first sip of the Grand Solage is followed by a fruity taste and the vanilla aroma of oak.

Aromas of apples fill the air, and vanilla is also recognizable, characteristic of the Pays d’Auge. The taste is very smooth and fruity with incomparable elegance and aromatic fullness.
