Calvados is an amber-colored apple brandy from Normandy, France. The name of the drink is derived from its protected designation of origin, the "Département Calvados". For the production of calvados, the fresh apple cider is fermented into cider in a few weeks, there are a total of 48 different apple varieties.
The "Boulard Calvados X.O." is the heart of Boulard, a blend of all the flavors of the calvados in the series. The perfect balance is created by mixing different 8 to 15 year old calvados from the Pays d’Auge. X.O. is an excellent Calvados, known for its complex flavors of grilled almonds and ripe apples and its light, well-balanced smell.
A harmonious scent of apple, vanilla and elegant oak and flower notes fill the air. In terms of taste, this fruit brandy has a nice balance of ripe apples, light spices and hazelnuts.
