Calvados is an amber-colored apple brandy from Normandy, France. The name of the drink is derived from its protected designation of origin, the "Département Calvados". For the production of calvados, the fresh apple cider is fermented into cider in a few weeks, there are a total of 48 different apple varieties.
Calvados Pere Magloire Pays d'Auge is stored in oak barrels and owes its taste to the double distillation process.
A scent of apple blossoms and a light note of oak rises into the nose. On the tongue it develops an intense but harmonious taste with a strong fruitiness. The finish remains fresh, without woody or tart tones.
