Calvados is an amber colored apple brandy from Normandy, France. The name of the drink derives from its protected designation of origin, the "Calvados department". To make Calvados, the fresh apple cider is fermented into cider over a few weeks. There are a total of 48 different types of apples.
Père Magloire Calvados XO is a characterful apple brandy from Normandy, distinguished by extended ageing and refined depth. For this XO expression, selected Calvados are matured for several years in oak casks, allowing a complex and harmonious profile to develop.
On the nose, ripe apple aromas combine with dried fruits, vanilla and subtle oak notes. The palate reveals flavours of baked apples, caramel, oak and gentle spice. The finish is smooth, long lasting and well rounded.
