The Behn company, which produces the "Radeberger Bitter", was founded in 1892 by Waldemar Behn as a beverage wholesaler. Waldemar Behn sold beer to construction workers on the Kiel Canal. In 1906, Waldemar Behn bought the brewery in Eckernförde, where the company is located today. The range of Waldemar Behn GmbH now includes many different spirits. The legendary recipe for this bitter dates back to the 19th century.
