Ashton VSG Robusto Virgin Sun Grown 24er

The American Robert Levin founded the Ashton brand in 1985. Since then, they have been hand-rolled by the most experienced torcedores (scooters) in the world-renowned manufacturer Arturo Fuente (Dominican Republic).

Virgin Sun Grown was launched in November 1999 and was the most successful product launch in Ashton's history. "Sun for the palate" is a very apt description of this range. And this is to be taken literally. Only leaves from the upper harvest sections are selected for the brand; in other words, leaves that have received a particularly large amount of sunshine, which gives them an incredible amount of power. Incidentally, none other than Carlos Fuente Jr. is responsible for the blend, who put together Dominican tobaccos aged for four to five years for the VSG. The wrapper leaf comes from Ecuador, where it is grown exclusively for the VSG series.

The result is the perfect balance of complexity and character - or as the Dominicans would say: "Muy delicioso!" A multi-award-winning line that has won the Cigar Trophy (as the best cigar from the Dominican Republic) as well as several "Brilliant" awards. The Cigar Journal wrote: "Anyone looking for full-bodied cigars and an intoxicating taste experience with a complex long finish will find exactly that in the Ashton VSG. (...) It's a consummate cigar that spins a peacock's wheel of flavors on the palate." As is so often the case in life, the real treasures only reveal themselves when you think outside the box; otherwise you might miss out on such a delicacy as the Ashton VSG. And that would be a shame!
