Originally, the full brand of La Aroma del Caribe Mi Amor was made at Flor de Copan in Honduras under the aegis of Altadis. In 2009, Robert Levin, the owner of Ashton Cigars, decided to relocate production to Nicaragua.
It took Ashton's master blenders two years to perfect the »Mi Amor« blend - but it was worth the wait. In 2010, the Ashton brand "La Aroma del Caribe Mi Amor" was launched in the United States. In the same year and the following year, the "Cigar Aficionado" included it in the top 25 ranking of the world's best cigars of the year. The »Mi Amor« has also been available in Germany since September 2012. In terms of taste, the strong cigar is characterized by coffee aromas in combination with well-balanced notes of nuts, sweet nougat and a hint of vanilla.
