Chivas Regal is a whiskey brand owned by Chivas Brothers Ltd. In Aberdeen, a town in Scotland, in the 19th century, James Chivas began experimenting with some of the old whiskeys that were in his cellar in the grocery store visionary act that would later change the history of the Chivas Brothers forever.
Chivas Regal XV 15 Year Old Gold Edition Blended Scotch Whisky 40% 0.7 Litre
Chivas Regal XV 15 Year Old Gold Edition is an aged blended Scotch whisky from Scotland. This bottling combines the smooth Chivas character with fruity notes, sweet spice and a special maturation in French oak.
The whisky is aged for 15 years and then finished in French oak casks. According to Chivas, part of the blend is finished in cognac casks. This creates a rounded, fruit forward character with a soft texture and fine vanilla note.
On the nose, it shows red apples, orange marmalade, honey, cinnamon and sultanas. On the palate, Chivas Regal XV is smooth, fruity and sweet, with notes of poached pears, caramel, butterscotch and vanilla. The finish is rounded, pleasantly soft and marked by a fine vanilla note.
Chivas Regal XV can be enjoyed neat, over ice or as a quality base for whisky cocktails. It works especially well in a whisky highball or in festive drinks with fruity and sparkling elements.
