The GlenDronach Distillery is located in Forgue near Huntly in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. It is one of the oldest distilleries in the country and has been producing some of the finest sherried single malts for nearly 200 years. The distillery matures its exceptional whisky in the finest Spanish sherry casks—Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso—from Andalusia.
GlenDronach is renowned for its rich flavour profile, ranging from sweet and fruity notes drawn from carefully selected Pedro Ximénez casks to drier, nuttier tones imparted by outstanding Oloroso casks.
Description:
Glendronach Traditionally Peated is a bold Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky that combines the distillery’s renowned sherry cask maturation with a rich, smoky character. Unlike Glendronach’s typical unpeated expressions, this whisky is crafted using peated malted barley, reviving the distillery’s historic production style.
Aroma & Taste:
On the nose, it offers a robust combination of sweet malt, dried fruits, and gentle campfire smoke. The palate delivers a well-balanced mix of peat smoke, toffee, ripe plums, and warming spices. The finish is long, smoky, and smooth, with notes of dark chocolate and seasoned oak.
Cask Maturation:
Matured in a combination of former Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks, as well as bourbon barrels, this whisky reveals layers of sweetness, spice, and smoke.
