Glenfiddich is a whiskey distillery near Dufftown in the former County of Banffshire in Scotland. Glenfiddich is one of the largest single malt producers in Scotland. With the help of his nine children and a stonemason, William Grant fulfills his lifelong dream and builds a distillery that he does named after the nearby Deer Valley "" Glenfiddich "". After only one year, on Christmas Eve 1887, the first drop of whiskey flowed out of the copper stills.
This whiskey has matured in various oak barrels, including former sherry & bourbon barrels, for at least 15 years.
Fruity notes of green apples and lemon rise into the nose. You can also perceive notes of yeast dough, oak and vanilla. On the palate there are nuances of sweet oak, light pepper and a ginger sweetness. These notes are accompanied by notes such as confectionery, cinnamon, shortbread biscuits, marzipan and cakes with jam. In the finish, notes of apple are again noticeable. Orange peel and light oak notes also join in.
