The Glenglassaugh Distillery was founded in 1875 by Colonel James Moir and quickly became known for producing exceptionally fine whisky. The distillery was mothballed until December 2008, when it was purchased by a group of investors. In 2013, Glenglassaugh became part of the Benriach Distillery Company, and in 2016, it was acquired by Brown-Forman, alongside The GlenDronach and Benriach Distilleries.
Glenglassaugh Sandend is a modern Highland single malt inspired by the bay that lies beside the distillery. Matured in a mix of bourbon, sherry, and Manzanilla casks, it offers a rich and vibrant profile that reflects both coastal character and the distillery’s distinctive style.
On the nose, tropical fruits, vanilla, sea salt breeze and gentle spices emerge. The palate shows creamy sweetness with pineapple, apricot, honey and light oak, rounded by a subtle minerality. The finish is long, lively and well-balanced.
A coastal Highland whisky that beautifully captures the harmony of landscape, craftsmanship and maritime influence.
