Glenlivet is a whiskey distillery near Ballindalloch, Moray, Scotland. The distillery was founded in 1824 as the first legal distillery under the Act of Excise of 1823 by George Smith. The distillery has one mash tun and eight fermentation vats. For The Glenlivet American oak barrels are used in which, for example, sherry or bourbon has already been stored and which give the whiskey its own aroma.
The Glenlivet Triple Cask Rare Cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky 40% 1 Litre
The Glenlivet Triple Cask Rare Cask is a Single Malt Scotch Whisky from Speyside. This expression belongs to the Triple Cask Matured range and combines the fruity smooth style of The Glenlivet with selected cask notes.
Rare Cask is made with a high proportion of ex sherry oak casks. This creates a rich and rounded profile with fruit, vanilla, spice and gentle sweetness.
On the nose, it shows syrupy peach and ginger. On the palate, orange marmalade, vanilla, liquorice, ripe fruit and warm spices come together in a harmonious taste.
The finish is long and pleasantly spicy. At 40% vol., The Glenlivet Triple Cask Rare Cask is especially well suited for sipping neat, over ice or with a few drops of water.
Warnings: Drink responsibly.
