Glentauchers 10 Year Old 2008 Bourbon Barrel Dun Bheagan is a single malt Scotch whisky from Speyside. This bottling is part of the Dun Bheagan range by Ian Macleod and shows the approachable, fruity and malty character of the Glentauchers distillery.
The whisky was distilled in July 2008 and bottled in 2019 after 10 years of maturation. It was matured in two bourbon barrels, cask numbers 281 and 283. The release is limited to 990 bottles and was bottled at 43% vol.
On the nose, it shows pear drops, light wood, a touch of mint, vanilla, malt and gentle oak spice. On the palate, the whisky is smooth, malty and balanced, with notes of caramel, toasted oak, light fruit, fine baking spices and subtle sweetness.
The finish is pleasantly mild, malty and lightly spicy. Glentauchers 10 Year Old 2008 Dun Bheagan is especially well suited for sipping neat in a nosing glass or with a few drops of water.
