Isle of Jura is a whiskey distillery based in Craighouse on the Isle of Jura, Scotland, UK. Originally founded in 1810, the distillery was reborn in 1963, revitalizing a local community.
Jura 13 Year Old is an Island single malt Scotch whisky from the Scottish island of Jura. This bottling is part of the Jura Islanders Series and was created exclusively for travel retail.
The whisky celebrates the storytelling tradition of the island of Jura, which has long been a retreat for writers and creative minds. Matured in ex bourbon casks, it shows a smooth, fruity and balanced island character.
On the nose, it shows ripe citrus fruit, hazelnut, vanilla and apricot. On the palate, Jura 13 Year Old is mild, rounded and pleasantly approachable with fruity notes, sweet vanilla, fine nuttiness and gentle cask spice.
The finish is smooth, harmonious and lightly spicy. Thanks to the 1 litre bottle, this travel edition is well suited for sharing, gifting or for drinkers looking for a mellow single malt from the Scottish islands.
