Kilchoman is one of the younger whiskey distilleries in Scotland and one of nine active whiskey distilleries on the Hebridean island of Islay in Scotland.
Kilchoman Rockside 11 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky 46% 0.7 Litre
Kilchoman Rockside 11 Year Old is a Single Farm Single Malt Scotch Whisky from the island of Islay. It comes from Kilchoman Distillery, an independent farm distillery known for its barley to bottle approach.
Rockside is made with Islay barley grown on the distillery’s own farm, then malted, distilled, matured and bottled on site. This whisky presents the original character of the 100% Islay range in a permanent age stated expression.
Maturation takes place in a combination of ex bourbon and ex sherry casks. On the nose, it shows fresh citrus notes, tropical fruit, gentle honey sweetness and a delicate maritime smoke. On the palate, juicy fruit, malt sweetness, toffee, salted caramel and soft peat smoke come together.
The finish is long, smooth and pleasantly spicy, with notes of butterscotch, walnut, citrus fruit and stone fruit. At 46% vol., Kilchoman Rockside 11 Year Old is an expressive Islay whisky best enjoyed neat in a nosing glass or with a few drops of water.
