Kilkerran is produced at the historic Glengyle Distillery in Campbeltown, originally founded in 1872 and revived in 2004. Known for handcrafted production and traditional Campbeltown character, Kilkerran whiskies often feature maritime depth, oily texture and subtle smoky undertones. The “Heavily Peated” series showcases the boldest, smokiest side of the distillery while maintaining its signature balance and complexity.
Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 08 is an expressive release that highlights the full smoky power of the Glengyle Distillery. Bottled at a robust cask strength of 58.4% ABV and matured in a mix of bourbon and sherry casks, this single malt offers impressive intensity and aromatic depth.
The nose opens with bold peat smoke, maritime hints, vanilla, citrus and gentle spice. On the palate, the whisky is oily, rich and full-bodied: smoke, sweet malt, honey, creamy vanilla, dried fruits and strong oak spice combine into an intense flavour profile.
The finish is long, smoky and warming, with lingering spice, wood notes and a dry, smoky fade. A powerful Campbeltown whisky that will thrill fans of heavily peated malts.
