Every single barrel of Maker's Mark is moved and relocated by hand almost daily during the maturation process. Furthermore, every bottle is dipped in red wax and sealed by hand. This seal is the unmistakable, individual trademark of this extraordinary bourbon and makes every Maker's Mark is unique.
In addition to maize and barley, not rye, as usual, but red winter wheat is used for its production.
The fully ripened Maker's Mark is fitted with toasted sticks made from French Limousin oak. Maker's 46 is only stored in winter when ripening is slower. During the ripening period, the whiskey is constantly tasted. When the flavors are perfectly balanced, the whiskey is bottled. Maker's 46 impresses with its strong vanilla, caramel, oak and spice aromas.
The additional ripening gives the bourbon a deeper, more complex taste profile and still retains the mild aroma of Maker's Mark.
