Scapa is a whiskey distillery in St Ola on the Scapa Flow on the island of Mainland Orkney, Scotland, United Kingdom. The Scapa Distillery is the only one in Scotland to produce with Lomond Stills. The exception is Bruichladdich, where the Lomond Still is used to produce gin. Lomond stills are an intermediate form of continuous and pot stills. The Lomond still has a cylindrical shape and movable internal copper plates.
The Scapa 10 Years matures for a full decade in oak casks, developing depth and smoothness. Bottled at a bold 48% ABV, it carries the distillery’s signature style: maritime, fruity, and elegant.
On the nose, it offers notes of honey, citrus, and fresh apple, accompanied by a hint of sea breeze. The palate is full-bodied and rounded, with flavors of vanilla, toffee, pear, and gentle malt sweetness. The finish is long, warming, and subtly seasoned with oak and a touch of sea salt.
A characterful single malt from the Orkney Islands – robust, balanced, and elegantly influenced by the maritime Climate.
