The Tamdhu 12 year old is produced by the Tamdhu Distillery, which is located in the Speyside region of Scotland. The distillery was founded in 1897 and specializes in the production of single malt Scotch whiskies, which are primarily known for their maturation in high-quality sherry casks. Tamdhu is part of Ian Macleod Distillers Ltd, a family-run company that owns and operates a variety of whisky brands. Ian Macleod Distillers acquired Tamdhu Distillery in 2011 and has since reinvigorated the production of high quality whiskies, with a particular focus on traditional production methods and the exclusive use of Oloroso sherry casks.
Tamdhu 14 Years is a classic single malt from Scotland’s Speyside region, matured exclusively in first fill European oak sherry casks. This dedicated cask policy gives the whisky depth, structure and pronounced fruit character.
On the nose, aromas of dried fruits, raisins and orange peel emerge, complemented by vanilla, honey and gentle spice. The palate is full bodied and well balanced with notes of dark chocolate, toffee, ripe apples and refined oak. The finish is long, smooth and pleasantly spicy.
