Flor de Selva was founded in 1995 by Maya Selva, a French-Honduran entrepreneur who successfully established herself in the male-dominated cigar industry. The inspiration came from Maya's Honduran grandfather, who was a passionate smoker of Honduran cigars. The tobaccos are sourced exclusively from the fertile regions of Honduras, particularly the Jamastrán Valley in El Paraíso and the Danlí region. The cigars are distinguished by their balanced blend of Honduran tobaccos with Nicaraguan binders and Connecticut Shade wrappers. The typical characteristics of the cigars range from mild to medium-bodied with subtle notes of cedarwood, dried fruits, and honey-like aromas.
