Grand Old Parr is a blended Scotch whiskey named after what is believed to be the oldest man in England. The whiskey was launched in 1909 and is owned, distilled and sold by Diageo, the British beverage company.
The Grand Old Parr Scotch Whiskey 12 Years is a so-called De Luxe Blended Scotch Whiskey with a particularly high proportion of selected malt whiskeys. Made by MacDonald Greenless Distillers, Old Parr is composed of individual whiskeys that have been stored in selected oak barrels for at least 12 years.
Notes of malt, citrus fruits and a light orange note rise in the nose. There is a lot of malt on the palate. This is accompanied by a spice, some smoke, caramel and honey notes. The finish is very long.
